for thirty years
they’ve played their games
and it’s always the pastor to blame
but one in despair
cried a desperate prayer
and God answered by sending you
now you preach the Truth
and through your faithful heart
His Light shines in the dark
but remember He warned,
if they won’t receive Me
I’ve got other sheep for you to lead

so shake the dust from your sandals
and don’t look back
let My Word be your sword and your shield
grab those pearls from that swine—
you know he ain’t Mine—

to better ground

there’s the reader who cries
and anytime he lies
is every time he opens his mouth
the old man elder
with eyes cold as sin—
windows to the darkness within
to the world they claim,
“we’ve done so much in His Name!”
and they pat themselves on the back
but someday soon, He’ll say,
“I never knew you”
and He’s got other work for you to do

remember He said:

they complain, “don’t judge,

but He said, “Holy things aren’t for the dogs.
Be as shrewd as a snake and gentle as a dove.”
let Satan think he’s won—
